Payments & Gifts Policy

1. Payments are verified by the backend

A payment on Circle World only becomes successful after Circle World's backend receives confirmation from the payment provider. The app on your device can never authorise a payment, create money, change a wallet balance, approve a withdrawal or mark a transaction as successful.

2. Display currency and payment currency

Circle World shows prices in United States Dollars ($) by default. The currency you are actually charged in depends on the payment provider available in your country, and the exact amount in that currency is always shown before you confirm a payment.

If a payment provider cannot process a transaction in the display currency, Circle World will either charge a supported currency and show you that exact amount first, use a different supported provider, or make that payment method unavailable. Circle World never claims to have taken a payment in a currency it cannot actually process.

3. Exchange rates

Exchange rates come from a trusted external rate source and are stored with each transaction. The original currency, the original amount, the rate used and the converted amount are all recorded. Historical transactions are never recalculated using today's rate, and no user can influence a rate.

4. Gifts

Gifts are a way to support a creator. A gift is a payment for a digital item; it is not a loan, a deposit, an investment or a refundable balance.

The backend determines the gift price, the payment currency, the creator share, the Circle World share, fees, taxes, payment status and refund status. A creator receives the applicable earnings only after the payment is confirmed, and the amount first appears as pending.

5. Wallets

Your Circle World wallet is a record of earnings held for you — it is not a bank account and does not earn interest. Balances are maintained on the server and the app only displays what the backend reports.

6. Fraud and security controls

Circle World applies velocity limits, daily limits, duplicate-payment checks, account-age checks, high-value review holds and manual review on ultra-premium transactions. Payments that fail these checks may be held, declined or refunded.

7. Card data

Circle World does not store your full payment-card details. Card entry and authorisation happen on the payment provider's secure hosted pages.
